An endowment fund is a designated bucket of donated money that is strategically invested to create a reliable stream of annual income for a charitable purpose.
Think of the Foundation as the house, and the endowment funds as the furnishings. The Foundation provides the structure, and there are seven funds within the Gateway Christian Schools Foundation that make up the furnishings:
General Endowment Fund
Scholarship and Tuition Assistance Fund
Faculty Compensation Fund
Classroom Technology Endowment Fund
Athletics Endowment Fund
Fine Arts Endowment Fund
Restricted Endowment Fund
